Dorothy and John lead the group. They have been practicing Tai Chi and QiGong since 2011.

The first half of the session includes a warm up and two Tai Chi Short Forms. The second half of the session includes a variety of simple Qi Gong exercises. Most people have heard of Tai Chi, but most are unsure about Qi Gong. It is an ancient health system of exercise based on traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating the flow of Qi ( energy).
The exercises are accessible and everyone is encouraged to work within their own comfort zone.

To help GU3A members decide if our Tai Chi group is suitable for them, they should consider that it is a standing exercise that involves bending, stretching, and balancing. If someone already practises a physical activity such as pilates yoga, dance or participates in a walking group they would have no problem with Tai Chi.
